Ansaldo Energia, a Finmeccanica company and leading supplier of components and services for power generation plants, has won an important contract in Egypt worth 90 million Euro. The order concerns two 250 MW steam turbines and auxiliary systems for the combined cycle power plants in Sidi Krir and El Atf, operated by West Delta Electricity Production Co. and Middle Delta Electricity Production Co. respectively, both owned by the Egyptian Electricity Holding Co, the state power company. The cash portion is funded by the EIB and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development
(AFESD).
The contract will allow Ansaldo Energia to strengthen its presence on the Egyptian market, where it
has already been very successful, notably in its contribution to the Assiut, Damanhoor, Shoubrah El
Kheima and New Esna plants.
